Witnesses see friend stabbed to death in car- Acquitted !!

SY was a back seat passenger in a friend’s car when suddenly he produced a knife and stabbed his friend to death whilst the vehicle was still being driven along the Pretoria Road in Small Heath. There were two other passengers in the vehicle who witnessed this murder [they gave evidence at the trial]. SY escaped to a friend’s house where he disposed of his clothes and the murder weapon [his friend was later arrested and confessed to disposing of his items]. SY sought refuge in a girlfriend’s house and confessed to her about the Murder [she also gave evidence at the trial]. SY was then taken to Telford, where he was subsequently arrested and signed a pocket note book of a police officer admitting to the stabbing. Despite the overwhelming evidence against SY he was found not guilty after trial.

Attempt to Murder Man in Stoney Lane Gym – NOT GUILTY !!

AA and his 2 brothers [all represented by GQS Solicitors] allegedly attended the Stoney Lane Gym armed with knives and hammers and attempted to murder their relative. The victim sustained life threatening injuries. They were identified on an ID parade by their relative and other witnesses as being the persons responsible for the attack. They were successfully represented by GQS Solicitors and were all acquitted after trial.

Neighbour Shooting- Woman Acquitted !!

LH had a long running feud with a woman whom she was accused of threatening, attacking with a hammer and then finally arranging for her murder. She was shot at on her door step. Clear evidence of motive, eye witness, forensic evidence and the fact she was found in possession of the firearm [recovered from her loft and her fingerprints on the packaging] and cartridges combined to make a strong case against LH. Defence submissions led to the prosecution offering no evidence on any charge and she was thereby acquitted and awarded costs.

Gypsy Murder- Man acquitted of Perverting the Course of Justice!!

MS was allegedly involved in assisting his friends in storing a murder victim’s body in his storage premises and then assisting them in disposing of the body, There was overwhelming CCTV and Mobile phone evidence connecting our client to the offence. He was found NOT GUILTY after a lengthy trial and awarded costs.

GR was the first defendant of 9 accused of a planned revenge shooting. The prosecution alleged that he hired a gang to kill his employer after a recent falling out. After 6 weeks trial at Birmingham Crown Court and following a long legal argument the prosecution decided not to continue. Jabeen Akhtar was one of the barristers representing GR.

Gangland Shooter Walks Free.

Our clients had been accused of staging a shooting in order to frame an innocent man, with the lead defendant accused of orchestrating events while being held in Prison on unrelated charges.

Following a successful legal argument by Defence Counsel relating to Police failures to undertake all reasonable and proper enquiries during the investigation, The Judge at Birmingham Crown Court agreed that there had been an “Abuse of Process” and as such the case could not continue, resulting in the 2 defendants represented by GQS Solicitors being acquitted of all charges and walking free.

Production of counterfeit cigarettes- Gary Lampoon from HM Revenue and Customs “This was organised crime on an industrial scale. The gang planned to launch a UK production facility manufacturing goods by the million” The factory in Chesterfield was capable of producing upto 625 million counterfeit cigarettes and five million pouches of fake rolling tobacco a year- Client pleaded on a basis and was sentenced to 12 months suspended sentence.

Duracell Energy Drink Fraud- NOT GUILTY !!

The famous Duracell name in an elaborate scam to sell international rights to a non-existent energy drink.

Also on the trial was a Bradford criminal solicitor who allegedly “nobbled” witnesses and was filmed handing over money to buy their silence.

Five firms based in Dubai, Hong Kong, Hungary and Iran had paid for exclusive international rights for the Duracell energy drink which only existed in the form of dummy cans.

The companies were the victims of a carefully planned international advanced-fee fraud.

GQS represented the only defendant who faced a re-trial and was eventually found not guilty. He was also awarded costs.
